Affordable Luxury List #1

I'm sorry to have been away awhile. Back to the blog
...
I hate to buy expensive clothes at premium prices. I do not want to become hysterical because I spill spaghetti sauce on a blouse or pants, or because a muddy kid hugs me, or a dog gets excited and jumps up on silk.
So, I have always tried to enjoy beautiful, well-made clothes at a discount. If it gets ruined, oh well. I'll just pick up something else.
So, I started looking at purveyors of luxury goods online. (I used to shop in their basements...)
Dillards is a nice store, but , I couldn't find a sale section, online. Same with Lord & Taylor's. Same with Barney's. ...
Cole Haun has sort of good sales on shoes and handbags; sort of because most items are usually over $100, still, that's markdown perhaps from $400 or more...
At Bloomingdales, it is the sales & values section of the homepage, at the top, toward the right. Remember, for all these stores, items are in limited sizes and quantities...
Saks Fifth Avenue usually has around 300 to 400 items marked down to less than $100.00. Many of these items are 50 to 80% off.
Nordstrom has an easily navigable website, and includes in it's sales section, beauty items when available. Very nice selection.
Neiman Marcusfeatures not only clothes but bedding and furniture in it's sale section.
Bergdorf Goodman also has a nice, if somewhat smaller, sale section.
Macy's usually has over a thousand items for sale. Marvelous collections, and blouses/shirts as low as $9.99.
...and, Bluefly the online discounter, who also has a clearance section, is amazing. Great quality and names, at probably the lowest price possible.
Buy when you need, dress beautifully, and put some of the money you save away for that rainy day...
