Sunday Christmas Eve
December 24th 2006 16:27
This Week, With George Stephanopoulos, is on tv in the background as I write this, on Sunday, Christmas Eve, in the States. The new UN Secretary General is speaking.
Not a terribly good night's sleep last night for me for a variety of reasons. Ah, the Holidays. And the melding of many personalities who happen to be family.
What to say about money on this day?
Prayer, in any faith, is free.
I pray that the next few years we find tolerance, courage, strength, wisdom and compassion.
I pray that folks are less interested in what some stranger is recorded as doing in People magazine, and more interested in their family and security. Mind you, not the screaming fearful security that politicians want to use our money on, well or poorly.
But the security of good jobs, health insurance, warm or cool homes, depending on the season.
I'll be writing about that. New techniques to save money and the environment. Ways to save money.
I'll be writing about things we might want to consider demanding of the people who are supposed to represent us, the people; not private equity groups who hide their power and identities or the corporations who only received the status and protections of citizens in the last century (and haven't they just done so well with that priviledge).
A peaceful and joy-filled season to you and yours. May your patience be long, your humor bountiful, and your heart easy while your family returns your love.
