Finding What You Need When You Need It
February 22nd 2007 21:57
Here’s a website for getting cash-saving coupons, Valpak Also, a new link to the Breast Cancer Sitesince I entered the link listed below incorrectly.
There are other coupon sites I’ve visited, but I really don’t like having to register, giving personal information, in order to receive access to the coupons. The registration is probably harmless, simply to get consumer info and target the most useful ads to the customer. I’m just getting uncomfortable with the amount of information being collected on so many sites.
Another site, not requiring registration, is DealOfDay. This is a nice site for a lot of different discounts and coupons on a variety of items and services we all use.
I’d like to organize the information I provide on this site into categories, but I haven’t learned how to do that yet. I need to attend to my personal (non-Orble) blog, which I’ve been neglecting terribly.
Why organize my info? So I don’t get angry when I can’t find the file I’m looking for, when I need it. I don’t get a thrill sitting down to organize papers or computer files, but I am pleased when I can look for a folder and quickly find what I need.
If you haven’t had time to look up answers for the questions your family, or friends, have asked, after organizing, you might.
The same if you’ve spent your time looking up things for other people, leaving no time for your interests.
Starting with basics, try three stacks: urgent, important and later.
It is urgent that you keep a record of paying the rent and the utilities. If they call and insist you haven’t paid, that’s urgent.
Important is that you feel confident you have the best health insurance available for your family. If not, folders for the best prospects.
Later is that timeshare you wanted to check into (never buy new).
These are the things that our lives are filled with. Having the information available when we need it can let us have more time for the Later file, and that vacation we’ll enjoy

As a matter of fact, I've got about five minutes left here to piddle on the puter before the whole family dives in for our last minute weekend deep cleaning.
Loving the money saving tips! Who doesn't need 'em?

Today's World
I know what you mean about eliminating one pile of paper, and, later, on the same day, there's a new one (sigh).
I hope the way I wrote that piece that it didn't come off like I have a perfectly organized home. So not true. But, sometimes I can't get a certain dry, or hopeful, tone that is in my voice into my writing (as at least one sister has mentioned, smiling). Actually, she said, anyone who knows you, knows what you were saying.....So, my writing, like my organizing, is an ongoing learning process.....
I just wanted to offer that bit of encouragement that sometimes helps us do the things we need to do, along with all the other things we're trying to accomplish
Take care,
Theresa
